The acting is tremendous. British actors are generally schooled in live theater and their theatrical experiences enrich their film performances. “The Sense of An Ending” is a rich drama that a more sophisticated audience will enjoy. Jim Broadbent of Harry Potter fame gives a stunning performance that will probably garner him a BAFTA (British Academy of Film and Television Arts) nomination.
“The Sense of An Ending was directed by Ritesh Batra.
The screenplay was written by Nick Payne based on the novel “the Sense of an Ending” by Julian Barnes.
Like most British dramas, this was a little slow for American audiences but it was like an onion. The audience was exposed to experience after experience as the writers peel off the layers of Tony Webster’s life.
