Donatello, Raphael, Leonardo and Michaelangelo, the Teenage Ninja Turtles, have returned to save the world in “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.”
When Shredder joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and henchmen Bebop and Rocksteady to take over the world and kill all of humanity, the Turtles must confront an even greater nemesis: the notorious Krang.
The stars of the show are Donatello (Jeremy Howard), Micaelangelo (Noel Fisher), Leonardo (Pete Ploszek) and Raphael (Alan Ritchson). Megan Fox is April O’Neil. Will Arnett is Vernon Fenwick. Arnett is a name you might not know but his face is so familiar because he has been in 4 movies and 3 television shows this year alone. He is also married to Amy Poehler in real life. Stephen Amell plays Casey Jones. (What a gorgeous protagonist he is!) Brian Tee is Shredder. Brad Garret is the voice of Krang and Tony Shalhoub is the voice of Splinter.
Sparks flew between April O’Neil and Casey Jones so I trust that these two hotties will return to kindle their love match when they come up with the next Teenage Mutant Turtle movie and they will. This one will be a big success.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” was written by Josh Appelbaum and Andre Nemec based on characters created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman. The film was directed by Dave Green. The story is simple. The human race is threatened by the bad guys and the good guys triumph in the end.
I was supposed to go to the screening of “You Before Me” but got the wrong theater so we were “stuck” seeing “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows.” As it turned out, I loved this movie. I had read the book, “You before Me” and I was prepared with a whole box of Kleenex. Luckily, I didn’t need it for the Turtles.
The special effects and visual effects were astounding. We saw this in 3-D and it was a great way to see this film.
This is a fun movie that is suitable for the whole family. There is something in this movie for everyone. If possible, see it in 3-D it will heighten your experience.
“Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” opens Friday at AMC Showplace Edwardsville 12, AMC Eastgate Showplace 6 and Dougherty Theatres Jerseyville Stadium Theatre.
