13 MINUTES Review

R rated

“13 Minutes” is a true story. A German film, it is brutal but true to life in Nazi Germany. Usually, film makers show how the Nazi’s brutalized the Jews. “13 Minutes” shows how vicious the Nazis were to Germans who dared to resist the National Socialist Party. Not all Germans idolized Adolf Hitler, some wanted to see him gone.

In November 1939, Georg Elser’s attempt to assassinate Adolf Hitler fails, and he is arrested. During his confinement and torture, he recalls the events leading up to his plot and his reasons for deciding to take such drastic action.

Christian Friedel stars as Georg. Katharina Schultler is Elsa. Burghart Klaubner is Arthur Nebe and Johann von Bulow is Heinrich Muller.

“13 Minutes” was directed by Oliver Hischbieger and was written by Leonie-Claire Breinersdorfer and Fred Breinersdorfer.

I liked this film. It was very well done. It was well-acted too. Although there weren’t any well-known American actors in the “13 Minutes”, the acting was top notch. I look forward to seeing these actors again. I recommend this film but the movie shows Georg being tortured in the most horrendous way. It was difficult to watch that part. Do not take young people to see this film.
